On March 24, Women’s Voices of Glynn County organized a peaceful presentation by teachers, students, and the concerned citizens who support them to demonstrate so that safety becomes a priority, and that there is an end to gun violence and mass shootings in the schools. This was a non-partisan event, intended to advocate for common sense gun laws to make the community, state, and country safer.
The event included a rally in Howard Coffin Park and a short march on the sidewalks around the park. Speakers included:
– local faith leaders
– local high school students
– candidates for state Senate and House election
– representatives from NAACP and Family Connection Glynn
